Lisa Rümelin

Founding partner

Lisa has a 25-year track record of financing businesses in emerging markets with a specific focus and passion for Africa. In her nineteen-year career at Standard Chartered Bank she was based in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. She held a number of senior roles in leverage trade and shipping finance and was Managing Director and Regional Head of Leveraged Finance, Africa & Middle East. Following her time at Standard Chartered bank, she joined Emerging Markets Asset Manager Gemcorp LLP as a Senior Originator. Lisa is an advocate for female leadership in business, she was instrumental in getting Standard Chartered Bank to join the 30% Club Southern Africa, chaired the Corporate Finance Women’s Forum and created, led, and ultimately chaired the Senior Women in Africa form at Standard Chartered. She has supported Pink Dynasty CIC, a community interest company that provides mentoring and leadership coaching to talented young women from marginalised backgrounds, both as a director and mentor.

Nick Stileman

Founding partner

Nick is a corporate, leveraged and project finance specialist. He spent 16 years at Standard Chartered and was Managing Director of Corporate Finance Africa. He worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, and London before moving to Johannesburg where he was based for ten years. During this time concluded numerous high-profile transactions across the continent and built up an extensive network across the continent. After leaving Standard Chartered in 2019, he founded an independent corporate finance advisory firm, providing consulting services to organisations looking to invest in emerging markets.

Remi Oni

Remi is a seasoned banker with over 24 years’ experience in corporate banking, corporate finance, commercial banking, and retail banking. He is the Chairman of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) of Nigeria.

Wanjiku Mugane

Wanjiku is a Kenyan attorney and investment banker with significant experience across East Africa. She is a non-Executive Director for Hollard International and a Senior Advisor to AIIM.

Arno Cronje

Arno is a seasoned investor and corporate financier with experience in banking, corporate finance, distressed debt, and private equity. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
